(DST funded Incubation Center at GSSSIETW campus)

Self-employment allows individuals to create their own job opportunities rather than relying on existing ones. To enhance the start up ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in the city of Mysuru, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India has sanctioned a grant of 3.75 crores to GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women, Mysuru, under the National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing the Innovation (NIDHI) inclusive TBI scheme to establish incubation center in the area of Food Processing, Agro Processing and Health Care . GSSS Management Is Magnanimous to Contribute Rs 75 lakhs for setting up the incubation centre to encourage the students towards building the entrepreneur ecosystem and encourage women empowerment.

Incubation center ( DST-iTBI GSSSTBIF) being established in GSSSIETW campus will have an area of 9000 square feet dedicated for this purpose. The DST-iTBI provides state of the art facilities like Maker’s Lab to cater the needs of the incubates to work in the area of Food, Agro and Health Care. A dedicated governing team comprising of experts from industries in the recommended thrust areas, experts from leading incubation centres, financial experts and investors are framed to mentor and lead the iTBI.

DST-iTBI GSSSTBIF shall invite the proposal from Innovators / start-ups through open calls for providing ignition grants up to Rs. 10 lakhs for those ideas that can be converted into a prototype/products and later for commercialization. Innovators who avail the Ignition grants shall be part of the incubation centre .

Dr.S.Padmashree Professor in the Department of ECE, GSSSIETW is the Principal investigator and Dr Sushma.S.J & Dr Raviraj.P are the Co- Principal Investigator for this project.
